A Democratic Society Essay -- essays research papers

A Democratic SocietyThroughout sentence the debate upon which is the best system of governancehas been an ongoing debate. Somewhere among the realms of democracy, socialism, fascism, collectivism, and monarchism lies the answer to the perfectsystem. Tradition altogethery speaking, North America has al focuss move to remaindemocratic in ruling. The democratic system, unlike its alternatives, encourages equality and improperness among the mass which in new-fashioned orderliness, makesit the close attractive system of government today.Arguably, equality is the goal of many governments today. But what onemust draw is that equality laughingstock non be reached without giving someone else dissimilitude. While democracy influences equality, communism and socialism frownupon the very idea that all in all pot should be treated equal. The very ideathat all men atomic number 18 created every bit is very misleading. All men be not createdequally. Human organisms ar unequal in es sence because they are unequal in mostphysical and psychological characteristics along with health, intelligence, andemotional balance. For most of us, living amidst inequality is common.Equality is said to be having the same rights and freedoms as everyone else. Inmodern society this is very true to a certain extent. The only function equalabout people is that we are all born and finally we all die. In NorthAmerica, I believe that equality among people is nearly impossible. Theeducation is the main source of the problem. Education itself createdinequality surrounded by children at an early age. Since no two soulfulnesss are createdequally, they will not have the same opportunities, nor will they make use ofopportunities offered to all people like the education system. One of the most important liaisons to a person living in North America isliberty. LibertyLiberty can be defined as limited only be lawsconventional on behalf of the community . To a certain extent, this enablespeo ple to be in control of their own lives. The individual has the right tochoose how they conduct their lives. In the U.S. people rely on the Bill ofRights to protect themselves from government and opposite people. This bill ofrights includes freedom of speech, press, and assembly. Among these freedoms isalso the freedom of religion and freedom from unr... ...pA democratic society cannot function properly without liberalism.Liberalism is an ideology. It is a whole way of thinking. To be liberal meansyou are optimistic. Liberty and equality are the two things that separate oursociety from that of a communist or fascistic government system. With things likethe civil rights movement our society is slowing beseeming more aware of the worldly concern beyond that our immediate environment. Ethnic groups and minorities arebetter represented our society than they were fifty years ago. You can nolonger discriminate against someone because of there skin color which makes ourworld a more poli tically correct environment. Being democratic gives all peoplean equal chance to prove themselves in life. One thing I have learned aboutdemocracy is that is important to be open and not to think in the same mind set.Rules are meant to be broken. I have always thought that part of beingdemocratic means making room for new ideals and theories that make societyfunction better as a whole and in the exterminate be more capable in handling problemsin society. With all this in mind, freedom is in the hands of the individualand it is their choice what to do with it.
