Rachel Logan Eng112-003 Illustration Essay Final Draft Unintended Consequences In the spring of 2006, my ex-husband, Sean* (name has been changed for anonymity), make a choice. The choice he do affected many people in my family, and in his gambol out got family. Sean chose to kidnap my two children, ages 2 years and 9 months, and bunk to the state of rising York. He never aspect that I would follow him because I was attending bountiful- sentence at northwestern State Community College, I had a full-time job, and I baby-sat for my sister-in-law. What he did non expect was the love of a regain to her children will surpass all and means more than school, a job, and baby-sitting. Some things that people do adopt unintended consequences for themselves and for others. I went after them. I left everything behind in Ohio and went to naked as a jaybird York to get my children. I did non get the opportunity to prune anyone where I was going, quit my job, or q uit school. I had a friend that lived in the area that Sean had taken off to, so I stayed with him until I could find him and my children. I ended up falling for my friend, and the relationship ended badly. Me being the nice person that I am, I allowed Sean to move in with us. We fought a lot, mainly because I could not trust him. I was afraid to leave him alone with them, so I did not get a job that would force me to work when I could not get a babysitter. I would not have friends over, because I was afraid that I would have a ripe(p) time and he would slip away with my kids again. In October of 2006, Sean had me arrested. The “charges” that he filed were Endangering the welfare of a Child and 2nd Degree Harassment. He told the police I slapped him in front of my oldest child.
